The Train Ride from Williams, AZ to The Grand Canyon National Park

When we came to the Grand Canyon, I thought that a float trip down the Colorado River would be fun.  But.....thinking about it...it was 40 degrees and the wind was blowing about 35 miles per hour and somehow getting wet under those conditions did not seem like alot of fun.  So.....The train ride is a float trip without water!!

Before the train trip begins there is a wild west shoot out in the area outside the train depot in Williams.  The sheriff, pictured here ends up shooting the rest of the cowboys.

On the train ride entertainment was provided for the passengers.  This fellow played the fiddled and sang old cowboy songs.

This is the Grand Canyon train.  Picture taken from the cars behind as it went around a curve.  There were 14 cars on this train.

At the Depot in the Grand Canyon National Park.

On the way home of course the train was 'held up' by a group of  train robbers.  The fun thing is that these train robbers were the same cowboys that were in the shoot-out in the morning.  As the saying goes, old cowboys never get shot they just return as train robbers.
